WHO IS RAMBI
RAMBLINI?
Hi! I’m Rambi Ramblini!
My real name is actually Andrea Victorio, and as of creating this portfolio, I’m in my third year of college. Currently, I am majoring in Visual Communication and set on becoming either a concept artist or illustrator in the animation, game, or even comic industry.
Online, I go by Rambi Ramblini because one of my main traits is tending to ramble or yap a lot. I often times end up overexplaining things needlessly, but instead of being embarrassed about it, I utilized this trait of mine to detail as much necessary information I can in posting my artworks online.
This not only helps me realize a pattern in my creation, but it also helps keep mental notes in what parts of my process actually better and develop my art further. I aim for versatility in my art skillset, and being able to take note of what clicks and what does not ensures my steady development as a young artist.

A character concept art series
BRAWLER BABES
Ever since I was young, I’ve always wanted to create my own series, initially wanting it to be a cartoon—still do—before wanting it to be more like a comic, Webtoon or manhwa style in presentation. And so, prior to the idea of Brawler Babes, I’ve had many attempts of making my own series, usually in the form of back of the notebook comic strips using only pencils.
Once I started digital art around 2017, this drive to create my own series, now even considering a visual novel series, if possible, only strengthened as I continued to hone my craft. Even as I finished my this different art style art series of mine, I found myself even thinking that perhaps I could enter the gaming scene as an artist for dating simulators. It’s a fun idea to toy around with, really.
To be honest, I have no concrete idea why I called this art series of mine “Brawler Babes.” I was just participating in a workshop at school where we were tasked to create a character on the spot, and I ended up using the concept of cute girl with deadly weapon as my main inspiration. I found myself loving her design, and eventually based my art series around that concept. I’m sure it isn’t a new concept by any means, but the idea is still fun, and I thoroughly enjoyed this art series of mine. Here’s hoping that you do too!

NOBELLE BOOM
Although Nobelle isn’t the character I drew in said workshop activity, she was the first character I tested my new art style on. I did have the foundation on how I want the anatomy to look like (i.e., bigger stylized hands and feet), and her design just so happens to have popped into my head. Since she was the first, most of the features and fashion are more like a draft for how I’ll create the other characters from then on (as you will see soon). But since I loved her design so much despite not having any other inspiration aside from creative motivation, I just kept her as is.
Since the first girl had been named with the format of “normal name + weapon of choice”, Nobelle’s name is in conjunction with how her weapon specialization is that of explosives of any kind. Since I saw her as having that “popular girl” attitude coupled with a few bouts of recklessness in the mix, I find bombs being a suitable specialization for her.

CORISANDE MARKE
After Nobelle’s more explosive impression, I wanted to create a character who was a bit opposite to her, someone more prim and proper, poised and composed. With that being my basis, I wanted to create a regal character—literal royalty. And so, Corisande was created.
If anything, unlike the other girls, I have more of a character background with Corisande, such as her being the youngest of four siblings, and her having three fiancés. While I did say I wanted a more composed character, I still thought of her as at least being a bit reckless with money. She falls under the rich character trope where she handles all the expenses of the group because she wants to.
And unlike the other three girls in my roster of weapon-wielding gals, her surname doesn’t exactly state what weaponry she uses. But seeing as “marksman” has “mark” in its term, Corisande specializes in guns.

MAXINNE MORNINGSTAR
Maxinne is actually the only one I had a clear vision of in terms of design and concept. She is the aforementioned character I drew in the workshop activity, albeit with a more simpler fashion. She initially just had a light pink baby doll dress, Mary Janes, and bubble braids whilst wielding a morning star (or mace, as some people call it).
For this art series, since I went ham with designing Corisande, I just had to up Maxinne’s fashion as well. Now she really leans into the coquette vibe I was aiming for before I even knew of the term. And since I was practicing drawing Asian features at the time I created her initial design, she went into a more Asian impression direction.
And since she embodies the cute girl with deadly weapon concept, her cute, coquette vibe is contrasted with wielding the aforementioned morning star.

NOLANI SWING
Since every friend group isn’t without the fun character, Nolani took that trope for the team!
Among all the girls. Nolani is the one who I had to think about design-wise. Unlike the first three before her, there was no design that came to mind even after I had planned for her to adopt a more soft girl, streetwear fashion aesthetic. After some pondering, and some perusing on Pinterest, I finally had a clear concept for her. although the process in designing her did almost demotivate me and nearly made me scrap her design.
But trusting the process is a thing, and she wound up having the desired impression I wanted to achieve for her. And since her surname is Swing, Nolani uses a baseball bat for combat.

HILDEGARDE GRIMM
Since I loved Maxinne’s design, being my first girl even prior to my concept, perhaps that’s why I also found myself falling in love with Hildegarde.
Aside from Nobelle, Hildegarde is also one of the two characters who I just had to see finished because I loved drawing her so much. Initially, I planned for her to have a more goth, emoscene vibe, but scrapped that for dark academia. And the contrast to her striking red hair and blue eyes is truly what made me love her design, albeit being as simple as that of Nobelle’s.
In terms of what weapon I wanted her to have, it is a bit cliché, but I went with a scythe at first (hence the Grimm surname, a homage to the Grim Reaper). But then I was reminder of a painting I saw on Pinterest where the Grim Reaper was instead wielding a sickle, and so in the end, I had her have that instead.
